Architecture

Architecture

As you might have recognized, I'm uploading lots of architecture shots recently.
Well, I sorted out my Lightroom gallery and came to the conclusion to put some architecture stuff I've made over the last months on dA.

I really like shootig architecture. The way to present a building in a different angle is always an interesting aim.

So if you're interested check out my latest and oldest architecture stuff beneath this journal and stay tuned for new pieces over the next days.
I'm always open for constructive critiques and advices.

Dear (new) watchers

Journal Entry: Wed Jul 2, 2008, 12:58 AM

Uhm, well, hello everybody (especially the new ones).
It's been a while ago (1 year) that I'm writing a (maybe) serious journal again.
Reason: lot's of work and nearly no freetime.
But, I don't want to waste time about that issue.

The reason I'm writing this journal is that over the months of my inactivity (expect the last two weeks) people still supported me with comments (sometimes really great ones), favs and buying prints (oh yea, finally I can finance my parking fine notice).
So, therefor: BIG THANKS, I really appreciate it :) (and I hope to get answered all comments within one year)

Hm, now that you're here (and maybe one of the hundreds of new watchers) reading my journal I think I have to introduce myself, so you know with whom you have to do:

My name is Sigurd Quast. Friends gave me the nickname 'muesli'. I was born in the mid 80's and currently I'm studying Surveying and Geoinformatics at the UAS Stuttgart / Germany.
I'm not a professional photographer as some might say/think. It's just a hobby (since 2006) which I'm affording in my freetime.
My digital gear is a Canon 5D/20D with lenses from wide to tele. Also I experiment with some analog Leica cameras (but cameras are not the important thing at all).
I like to shoot different photography genres. So my range goes from Architecture over Nature, Sports, Aero, Portraits, Events (they're still not online yet, but soon!), etc.
If you would ask me how I get inspired in my work: Music. I listen lots of it (always different styles). Maybe it sounds stupid.

So yes, that's me. BUT it would be fatal if YOU would stop reading here and click the X button above.
It's good to have new watchers but it's also sad to know that there is nothing to know! It would be great if you'd introduce yourself here in my journal (with a small or a big sentence, whatever you like). Just to get you better known.
It'd be great if you follow this
:)

Oh and yesterday ^Staged featured a photo of my gallery.

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 23, 2007, 1:12 AM

Had some great, sunny, warm and of course romantic days with my gf.
Didn't took so much photos for uploading, just some touristic pics and portraits.

Won't be so active (especially on dAmn) in the next weeks because this week is my last week in the factory before the new semester starts again :excited:.

Besides that I've severel military duties to do so this would be probably my last journal entry before le grand devMEET in Berlin from 19.-21. October!

So if you want to come there too, check this out:

Yea, Germany is a way too cold *brrr*

Also, I've finished my little portrait series which I've made just for fun.
What did you think about it?

See you in some weeks (if my hotel doesn't support WiFi :D)

(hopefully interesting) facts about themselves.

Back in West Germany

Journal Entry: Mon Aug 6, 2007, 1:50 AM
Heya,

finally I'm back in good old southern Germany.
Pictures will follow in the next weeks when I'll find some time.
It'll be snapshots..nothing serious then.
Just be patience :aww:.

The days summarized:
On friday morning I made myself on the way via plane which I baptized "Tuffy" (TuiFly) to Germany's capitol city Berlin.
Flight was nice..flighttime was about 40 minutes..
Yes, Germany can be so small.

After arriving in Berlin my first impression was a men with a broken and bleeding nose..i thought "w0rd, now you're in East Germany".

I tried to order something in the bakery, but there, understanding problems began.
Just wanted to order a bread roll:
Me: "Hallo, I hät gern a Weckle mit Breschtlingsgselz" (Hello, I'd like a 'Weckle' (bread roll) with 'Breschtlingsgselz' (strawberry jam))
Waiter: "Een was fürn Ding??" (A what??")
After explaining it with my bad standard German he said:
Waiter: "Ach, ick wees was Sie meinen, eine Schrippe!" (Oh I know what you mean, a "Schrippe" (that bread roll thing).
Me: "A was fürn Gerät? Egal, bringetses oifach her" (A what? Whatever, just bring it).
At first I thought he would bring a fish..that Schrippe thing sounds really like a fish...fortunately it wasn't.
For me as fulltime Swabian it was really hard to articulate in that damn standard German language.

Yea well, after arriving in the hotel I've met my room mates *Muenzmann, `tigaer and ~ATOMchris as well as *sachii and *Shyada who stayed that weekend by =pebcak and the little Terrorzwerch Vincent.
The following days we've visited the Reichstag, Kanzleramt, Brandenburger Tor, Holocaust Memorial (yay, we got lost in that labyrinth), the brute force building Hauptbahnhof / Central Station, saw the ghettos and we've played the first time in reallife Minigolf (located somewhere in nowhere).
Also some of us dared it to climb on the Berliner TV-Tower.
The heck, what an exorbitant price for that little toothpick who pins in the ground of Berlin.
Oh yea, and we've visited the Sony Center areal two times on different days. Thanks to `tigaer who borrowed me there his tripod on that night.

Oh hell, I could tell so much more. But somewhere I've to finish.
Speciall thanks goes out to:
*Muenzmann :flirty:
~ATOMchris :highfive:, teh Sushi-Rescuer
`tigaer *manhug*
*sachii :eyes:
*Shyada :glomp:
and of course to =pebcak who did a great organisation and guiding tour
and to the little vincent who said so sweet "Mü-sli"

Berlin ftw!! What a great weekend :aww:

Over and out

Journal Entry: Fri Jul 27, 2007, 9:38 AM

Huh, long time no update :)

Just wanted to say that I've passed all my exams :phew:.
It was really a hard work and the exams were more difficult as I'd have imagined it. But all the learning from dusk til dawn had an effort and I'm really satisfied with myself and the result.
Now I have term break until october with some big project works.

Finally that I've some leisure time, the first thing I will do is going to visit Berlin from 3rd til 5th August (next week). Oh hell, I've never been there..I'm a bit exited though.
So, if there are some ppl from Berlin, just note me and we could take a little tour.

Oh and yea, new KoRn album's out.
Great piece of smooth ballads, industrial vibes, somelike disco dancing and kitschy pop. Love that.
Outstanding fav song for me:
"Starting Over", "Kiss" (great ballad), "Ever be" (ending is like a song youd see set to the movie 300) and the rest is also great too .
